The Presidential Palace is distinguished by the bronze equestrian statue of Prince Józef Poniatowski, which stands in the courtyard facing the street. This neoclassical structure on Krakowskie Przedmieście began as an aristocratic mansion in sixteen forty-three, built for the Crown Grand Hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski. Throughout its life, the building has transformed from a private magnate residence into a theatrical venue and a government headquarters.
