Roman Catholic Church of the Visitants

The Church of the Visitants on Krakowskie Przedmieście is defined by its late Baroque façade, which features a distinctively undulating, wave-like shape. Built between seventeen twenty-eight and seventeen sixty-one, it remains one of the few buildings in the city that escaped destruction during the Second World War. The church was established for the Order of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, an enclosed monastic order brought to Poland by Queen Marie Louise Gonzaga in sixteen fifty-four.
