The Castle of Ibiza, or Castell d'Eivissa, dominates the highest point of the Dalt Vila, the fortified Old Town. It is identified by its complex of thick stone walls, nine quadrangular towers, and its position atop the rocky Puig de Vila hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The site contains layered structures from different eras, including a Moorish-era keep known as the Almudaina, a governor’s house, and eighteenth-century infantry barracks.
