The Obelisk to the Corsairs stands as a tall, stone pillar in the heart of the Ibiza port area. Inaugurated in nineteen fifteen and designed by the Catalan architect Augusto Font, the monument honors the local privateers who defended the island from invaders during the seventeenth, eighteenth, and nineteenth centuries.
