The Plaça de Sant Francesc is defined by a massive, towering sandstone wall that acts as the facade for the Basilica of Saint Francis. This facade, featuring an intricate rose window and an ornate Baroque portal, was constructed in sixteen eighteen after a lightning strike destroyed the original Gothic front of the church.
