The Grand Pacific occupies a grey-stone building defined by its Venetian Gothic turrets and tall, arched windows at the corner of King Street and Spring Gardens. Built between eighteen seventy and eighteen seventy-one to the designs of architect Edward Salomons, the structure originally served as the Manchester Reform Club. It functioned as a private clubhouse for the city's Liberal Party elite, hosting nearly one thousand members at the height of its influence.
