Christ Church

Christ Church is identifiable by the Tom Tower, a gatehouse with an octagonal lantern and dome designed by Sir Christopher Wren. This college is a unique dual institution, serving as both a constituent college of the University of Oxford and the cathedral for the Diocese of Oxford. Founded in fifteen forty-six by King Henry the Eighth, the site occupies land previously held by Saint Frideswide’s Priory.
