Worcester College is distinguished by a row of medieval stone cottages along the south side of its main quadrangle. While these humble buildings now sit alongside grand classical architecture, they are all that remains of the much older Gloucester College, which operated on this site from the thirteenth century until the dissolution of the monasteries in fifteen thirty-nine.
