Tom Quad is the largest college quadrangle in Oxford, measuring two hundred sixty-four by two hundred sixty-one feet. You can identify this massive, open expanse by the imposing stone gatehouse of Tom Tower that looms over its western side. Begun in fifteen twenty-five by Cardinal Wolsey, the project stalled following his fall from power, leaving the main entrance incomplete for over a century.
