The McKinley Tower Apartments at three hundred thirty-seven East Fourth Avenue is the oldest high-rise building in Anchorage. Rising fourteen stories, this reinforced concrete structure was designed by Earl W. Morrison and completed in nineteen fifty-two to help address a post-war housing shortage. Its rectangular frame stands as a distinct landmark in the eastern part of downtown.
