Earl Carroll Theater

The Earl Carroll Theater at six two three zero Sunset Boulevard is recognizable by the Streamline Moderne architecture of its facade. When it opened in nineteen thirty-eight, the building featured a twenty-foot-tall neon portrait of entertainer Beryl Wallace, a close associate of the theater's founder, Earl Carroll. Above the entrance, Carroll placed the words, Through these portals pass the most beautiful girls in the world.
