CBS Columbia Square

CBS Columbia Square is defined by its clean, white International Style architecture, featuring sweeping horizontal lines, ribbon windows, and glass block walls that still stand out along Sunset Boulevard. Designed by the Swiss-born architect William Lescaze and completed in nineteen thirty-eight, it was built as the premier West Coast headquarters for the Columbia Broadcasting System at a cost of two million dollars. At the time, it was the most expensive broadcasting facility ever constructed.
