The Paramount Stairway is a steep, concrete public staircase that snakes up the hillside of the Hollywood Heights neighborhood. It acts as a pedestrian link between the residential streets tucked into the slopes and the lower-elevation parking areas near the Hollywood Bowl. These stairs were built in the early nineteen hundreds, when developers designing this hillside enclave realized the terrain was too sharp for traditional roads.
