Alta Loma Terrace is a quiet, leafy pedestrian pathway hidden in the Hollywood Heights neighborhood where cars are entirely absent. Because the hillside terrain was considered too steep for automobiles when the area was developed in the early nineteen twenties, the homes here remain accessible only by climbing stairways or riding the historic High Tower Elevator. This five-story, concrete campanile-style tower sits at the northern end of High Tower Drive, serving as a private transit point for residents who hold the rare keys required to operate it.
