The Mary Helen Rogers Senior Community occupies the address at seven hundred one Golden Gate Avenue, situated on a site that once served as an off-ramp for the Central Freeway. After the ramp was removed, the land functioned as a parking lot until construction of this residential building concluded in twenty twelve. Today, it provides one hundred units of affordable housing for low and very-low income seniors, including twenty apartments reserved for formerly homeless individuals through a city partnership.
