The SFJAZZ Center is defined by its exterior of alternating horizontal bands of clear and opaque glass, which create a rhythmic, transparent face to the street. Opened in twenty thirteen on the corner of Fell and Franklin Streets, this three-story structure is the first building in the United States constructed specifically as a stand-alone home for jazz performance and education.
