Sydney Goldstein Theater

The Sydney Goldstein Theater at two hundred seventy-five Hayes Street is recognizable by the Spanish Revival architecture of its exterior and the public entrance situated partway down the block. Originally built in nineteen twenty-six as the auditorium for the High School of Commerce, the building transitioned into a public performance space after the school closed in nineteen fifty-two. During those years, the stage hosted performers ranging from Allen Ginsberg to Jim Morrison.
