Brightly colored paint on the ground marks the eighteen fifties shoreline of San Francisco. The area, known as the Landing at Leidesdorff, occupies the spot where the historic Long Wharf once stretched from the dry land of Commercial Street out into the bay. Beneath the surface lie the hulls of abandoned Gold Rush-era ships, remnants of the time when this served as the primary gateway for cargo and passengers arriving in the city.
