Russ Building

The Russ Building rises thirty-two stories above Montgomery Street, its limestone-toned terracotta facade detailed with neo-Gothic arches, pinnacles, and intricate stonework. Completed in nineteen twenty-seven, the tower was designed by architect George W. Kelham to evoke the grandeur of European cathedrals while housing the modern offices of a booming financial hub. For thirty-seven years, it held the title of the tallest building in San Francisco.
