The bronze lion that sits near the de Young Museum is easy to spot by its weathered, green-tinted coat and its habit of resting atop a large, craggy red stone. Sculpted by Roland Hinton Perry, the work was created in eighteen ninety-eight and cast in nineteen oh five.
