Abner Phelps House

The Abner Phelps House at eleven eleven Oak Street is distinguished by its bright white balcony and veranda, which are set back significantly from the streetfront to overlook a manicured lawn. Generally considered the oldest residence in San Francisco, the home dates to approximately eighteen fifty. It was originally built as the center of a one hundred sixty-acre homestead that stretched toward what is now the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park.
