William McKinley Memorial

The William McKinley Memorial sits at the eastern end of the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park. You can identify it by the fifteen-foot granite pedestal topped by a large female figure representing the Republic, who holds a sword and a palm leaf. While the memorial honors the twenty-fifth president of the United States, his likeness appears only as a small relief portrait on the side of the base.
