Duboce Park

Duboce Park occupies a long, rectangular stretch of land between Scott and Steiner Streets that was originally set aside in the eighteen sixties for a hospital that was never built. Instead, the site became a public reservation and eventually a park, dedicated in nineteen hundred to honor Colonel Victor Duboce. The ground here holds a notable irregular shape, a result of nineteenth-century legal battles over land titles that carved away portions of the original tract.
