Mural by Marina Perez-Wong

Marina Perez-Wong is a San Francisco native who co-founded the Twin Walls Mural Company in twenty thirteen alongside her longtime friend and artistic partner, Elaine Chu. The duo met in nineteen ninety-seven while attending the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts. Guided by their mentor Susan Kelk Cervantes, they began their careers as muralists with the Precita Eyes Muralists Association. Their work is characterized by the use of bold, saturated colors and intricate symbolism to explore themes of healing, community, and the personal experiences of women of color.
