Mission Creek Park South is a three-acre stretch of lawn, pathways, and an amphitheater lining the southern bank of the Mission Creek Channel. It features a glass and brick pavilion that sits on the western end of the park, offering views across the water. The land here was once part of a shallow tidal inlet known as Mission Bay, but during the nineteenth century, the area was filled with debris, including rotting ships and garbage from the city to create industrial real estate for railyards and warehouses.
