Leroy King Carousel

The LeRoy King Carousel sits inside a glass pavilion, its menagerie of hand-carved animals visible from the corner of Howard and Fourth Streets. Built between nineteen oh four and nineteen oh six by master carver Charles Looff, the ride features forty-four jumping horses, four standing horses, and thirteen carved animals including camels, giraffes, and a lion. These figures display elaborate saddles and faux jewels, reflecting the intricate craftsmanship of the early twentieth century.
