Martin Luther King Memorial

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, titled Revelation, is defined by a waterfall that cascades fifty feet wide and twenty feet high over slabs of Sierra granite. Completed in nineteen ninety-three, the monument sits within Yerba Buena Gardens as a collaborative work by sculptor Houston Conwill, poet Estella Conwill Majoza, and architect Joseph De Pace. The falling water creates a roaring acoustic shield that muffles the surrounding city noise, allowing for a quiet space behind the water curtain.
