At eight hundred forty-seven Montgomery Street stands the classic brick building that once housed Ernie’s. This location originally operated as a saloon and later became a destination for French cuisine, recognizable by the decorative brass E's set into wrought iron flower boxes along its facade. During its prime, the interior featured maroon silk brocade walls, crystal chandeliers, and heavy drapery that defined an era of formal, Old World dining in San Francisco.
