The Bransten House is a three-story mansion at seventeen thirty-five Franklin Street, identifiable by its brick exterior and restrained, classical appearance. While many Pacific Heights residences from the turn of the twentieth century feature the ornate, asymmetrical styles common to the Victorian era, this home departs from that trend. Its Georgian Eclectic design relies on orderly massing and solid masonry, a combination rarely seen in local domestic architecture of that period.
