Malloch Building

The Malloch Building is a five-story residential structure defined by its Streamline Moderne design, featuring smooth, white plaster curves and an abundance of glass brick that gives it the appearance of a ship at sea. Built between nineteen thirty-six and nineteen thirty-seven, this apartment house is distinguished by three tall, silvery murals etched into its exterior by artist Alfred Du Pont. These figures depict a Spanish explorer, a worker holding a globe, and a female representation of the Spirit of California.
