Moby Dick Records was a record label based at five hundred seventy-three Castro Street that defined a specific sound in early nineteen eighties dance music. Founded in nineteen eighty-one by producers Bill Motley and Craig Morey along with Will Smith, the label specialized in disco and high-energy electronic music known as Hi-NRG. Its releases, including tracks by the Boys Town Gang, were produced specifically for the crowded dance floors of San Francisco’s gay clubs.
