The Grand Opera House once occupied the north side of Mission Street, positioned between Third and Fourth Streets. Originally opened in eighteen seventy-four as Wade’s Opera House, the building featured a massive footprint measuring one hundred and ten feet by two hundred and seventy-five feet. It became a central destination for San Francisco audiences, hosting plays, concerts, and operas within its walls.
