Radio City Music Hall

Radio City Music Hall is identifiable by the neon marquee that stretches for an entire city block along the Avenue of the Americas. Opened in December nineteen thirty-two, this venue was conceived by John D. Rockefeller Junior and theater impresario Samuel L. Rothafel, known as Roxy, as a grand, affordable palace for the public during the Great Depression. Architects Edward Durell Stone and Donald Deskey created an Art Deco masterpiece featuring a signature proscenium arch that radiates like a sunrise.
