Palace Theatre

The Palace Theatre is marked by its elevated position thirty feet above the street, a result of an ambitious redevelopment project that raised the entire landmarked structure to make room for new retail spaces below. Built in nineteen thirteen, the theater was designed by the Milwaukee firm Kirchhoff and Rose for the vaudeville impresario Martin Beck. It emerged as the most sought-after stage in American vaudeville, where an invitation to perform meant a career had reached its zenith.
