One hundred twenty-one Avenue of the Americas is a fifty-one-story skyscraper defined by its facade of alternating vertical red granite piers and broad glass stripes. Designed by architect Wallace Harrison and completed in nineteen seventy-three, it forms part of the Rockefeller Center expansion project from the nineteen sixties and seventies. The building, formerly known as the McGraw-Hill Building, is one of three towers nicknamed the XYZ buildings, with its height and completion date positioning it as the middle structure in that group.
