Pier 40 at Hudson River Park

Pier 40 is a massive hollow square of concrete extending into the Hudson River at the west end of Houston Street. Covering fourteen and a half acres, it remains the largest pier on the Manhattan waterfront. While it now houses turf fields and a trapeze school, the structure originated as a centralized terminal for the Holland America Line.
