One hundred and one Spring Street is a five-story, grey cast-iron building that sits on a corner at the edge of the SoHo Cast-Iron Historic District. Built in eighteen seventy and designed by architect Nicholas Whyte, the structure is the only intact, single-use cast-iron building remaining in the neighborhood. Its façade, with its right-angle of windows, serves as an early predecessor to the modern curtain wall.
