9/11 Memorial & Museum

The 9/11 Memorial and Museum occupies sixteen acres of the World Trade Center site, defined most immediately by two massive reflecting pools. These pools sit directly within the footprints of the original North and South Towers. Architects Michael Arad and Peter Walker designed them to represent what they called absence made visible, with the largest manmade waterfalls in North America cascading thirty feet down the perimeter walls before disappearing into a central void.
