The JPMorgan Chase Tower at six hundred Travis Street rises one thousand two feet above the downtown streets, a five-sided skyscraper clad in polished, pale gray granite. Designed by the architect I. M. Pei and completed in nineteen eighty-two, the tower is distinguished by a sharp, forty-five-degree shear at one corner, which creates a slender, pentagonal profile.
