The Sweeney, Coombs, and Fredericks Building is a three-story brick structure at the corner of Main Street and Congress Avenue that features a distinct three-story corner turret. Designed by local architect George E. Dickey and completed in eighteen eighty-nine, the building displays elaborate Eastlake ornamental elements and molded brickwork. It stands as one of the few remaining examples of Queen Anne style commercial architecture in downtown Houston.
