Sabine Promenade

The Sabine Promenade is a stretch of parkland defined by the massive, tangled concrete overpasses of Interstate forty-five that loom directly overhead. This twenty-three-acre linear park runs along the banks of Buffalo Bayou, situated between Sabine Street and Bagby Street just northwest of downtown Houston. Where the area was once a neglected corridor of trash and erosion, the project reimagined the banks with native riparian plants and gabion walls to manage seasonal storm flows.
