The Sam Houston Hotel is a ten-story building distinguished by its classic brick and terra cotta facade. Built in nineteen twenty-four, the hotel was designed by the firm Sanguinet, Staats, Hedrick and Gottlieb to serve as an accessible destination for business travelers during the city's early oil boom. It remains one of the oldest operating hotels in the central business district.
