The Garrison Church

The Garrison Church sits at the corner of Argyle and Lower Fort streets, distinguishable by its heavy, locally quarried sandstone walls and the series of pointed Gothic arches that line its exterior. Officially named the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, it earned its common name through its long-standing role as the primary place of worship for the British imperial troops stationed at the nearby Dawes Point Battery.
