Gowrie Gate is a six-level Art Deco apartment building defined by its facade of red textured brick and rounded corners. Standing on the corner of Macleay and Orwell Streets in Potts Point, it was completed in nineteen thirty-eight. Architect Dudley Ward designed the structure to incorporate fifty-seven flats, professional suites, and shops, with penthouses on the roof featuring stone-paved terraces.
