The SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium is marked by a distinctive exterior design created by Australian architects to resemble a large, sweeping ocean wave. This structure was purpose-built to house an extensive collection of aquatic life in the Darling Harbour maritime precinct, and it officially opened to the public in nineteen eighty-eight. Following nearly two years of construction, the facility gained international attention upon its completion for its scale and its thematic integration with the surrounding waterfront.
