The Sideshow occupied a converted warehouse on Montague Road in West End, identifiable by a collection of eccentric murals and pre-loved furniture that once filled the space. Founded by Jaron Walker and Kylie Wihardjo, the site served as a hub for Brisbane’s circus and flow arts community. The founders, who had transitioned from academic and marketing careers, aimed to create a place for physical expression and collaborative performance.
