Collins Place, South Brisbane

Collins Place is a two-and-a-half-storey brick building on Grey Street, easily identified by its L-shaped plan, corrugated iron roofs, and surrounding timber verandahs. Built around eighteen eighty-nine for Michael Foley, the proprietor of the nearby Ship Inn, the house dates back to a period when this street was transforming into one of South Brisbane’s most fashionable residential addresses.
