The Queensland Maritime Museum is defined by the hulking form of the HMAS Diamantina, a World War Two River-class frigate resting permanently inside the heritage-listed South Brisbane Dry Dock. Built between eighteen seventy-six and eighteen eighty-one, the dry dock served as a vital piece of industrial infrastructure for over ninety years, hosting more than five thousand maintenance and repair entries before its closure in nineteen seventy-three.
