Old Government House and William Robinson Gallery

Old Government House is a two-story sandstone building with Ionic columns and triangular gables, positioned at the edge of the Brisbane River on the campus of the Queensland University of Technology. Completed in eighteen sixty-two, it was the first public building constructed by the newly formed government of Queensland. For nearly fifty years, it served as both a private home and an official state office for eleven colonial governors and their families, functioning as the center of political and social life in early Brisbane.
