People's Palace

The People's Palace is defined by its multi-story, wrap-around cast-iron balconies and Federation-style brickwork. Built in nineteen eleven by the Salvation Army, it sits on the corner of Edward and Ann Streets, directly across from Central Railway Station. The building was designed by the Salvation Army’s own architect, Colonel Saunders, to serve as a purpose-built temperance hotel.
